# Is Cryptocurrency or Trading Income Accepted for Brazil's Digital Nomad Visa?

Crypto counts for Brazil's VITEM XIV digital nomad visa on one route only: the US$18,000 savings requirement. It counts when the funds are held in USDC or USDT, the dollar-denominated stablecoins, and appear on an official bank statement from the institution holding them. Exchange screenshots, wallet addresses and other coins such as Bitcoin or Ether do not count. Crypto trading profits, staking and yield are not accepted as the US$1,500 monthly income either: the income route runs on signed contracts with employers or clients outside Brazil. If your savings sit in other coins, converting at least US$18,000 into USDC or USDT, or into cash, held on an official statement, is the practical way to qualify.

## What counts toward the US$18,000 savings route

-   Funds held in USDC or USDT, the dollar-denominated stablecoins, worth at least US$18,000.
-   Shown on an official bank statement from the institution holding them, in your own name.

## What does not count

-   Bitcoin, Ether and any coin other than USDC or USDT, whatever their value.
-   Exchange screenshots, wallet addresses or app balances instead of an official bank statement.
-   Crypto trading profits, staking, lending or yield as the US$1,500 monthly income. The income route needs signed contracts with employers or clients outside Brazil.
-   Anything routed through a Brazilian exchange or paid by Brazilian clients, which counts as Brazilian-source.

## If your savings are in other coins

Convert at least **US$18,000** into USDC or USDT, or into cash, and hold it where an official bank statement can show it before you apply. If you also earn under contracts with clients outside Brazil, the income route of **US$1,500 a month** is the other way in.
