Tourists from the US, Canada, and Australia need the [$80.90 eVisa](/brazil-evisa-vs-digital-nomad-visa-for-us-citizens) for entry, and remote workers who want to stay beyond 90 days should compare it with the [digital nomad visa](/brazil-digital-nomad-visa), which allows a 1-year renewable stay.

## Tourism Revenue

## Frequently Asked Questions

### How many people are entering Brazil right now?

In June 2026, Brazil's Federal Police recorded 1,253,128 international entries and 1,231,915 exits across all border points. This is the freshest official migration statistic in Brazil: the Federal Police publishes each month's file on the first day of the following month.

### How many international tourists visited Brazil in 2025?

9,287,196 international tourists arrived in Brazil in 2025 according to Ministry of Tourism data, an all-time record and 37% more than 2024's 6,773,619. Argentina, the United States and Chile were the top source countries.

### How much money does tourism bring to Brazil?

International visitors spent $10.92B in Brazil over the last 12 reported months (Banco Central travel account). The latest monthly figure is $786M (May 2026).

### Which nationality visits Brazil the most?

Argentina, by a wide margin: 3,386,823 Argentine tourists arrived in 2025, more than the next four countries combined in most months. The United States is the largest long-haul market.

### How many digital nomads has Brazil approved?

2,161 initial digital nomad residence authorizations were published in the Diario Oficial da Uniao between January 2022 and June 2026, plus 1,097 renewals. The full monthly breakdown by nationality and age is on our dedicated DOU tracker.

### Where does this data come from?

Four official sources: the Federal Police's STI border-crossing files (dadosabertos), the Ministry of Tourism's international arrivals dataset (dados.turismo.gov.br), the Central Bank's travel account series (SGS 22741/22742), and our own count of Diario Oficial despachos for digital nomad authorizations. Every module names its source and retrieval date.

### How current is each dataset?

Border flows: about 1 day behind (published the 1st of the following month). Tourism revenue: about 4 weeks. Tourist arrivals: about 6 weeks. Digital nomad approvals: updated monthly from the gazette. The page shows the coverage date next to every module.

### Why are border entries roughly double the tourist arrival figures?

The Federal Police counts every international movement including Brazilian citizens returning home, while the Ministry of Tourism counts only non-resident tourist arrivals processed under UNWTO methodology. Both are correct; they measure different things.

### Can I reuse these charts and numbers?

Yes. The underlying government data is open data, and our compilations are published under CC BY 4.0: cite GetBrazilVisa with a link to this page. Each stat has a copy button with a ready-made citation.

### Does GetBrazilVisa update this page manually?

The datasets are refreshed monthly through an automated pipeline that pulls each government source, and Camila Araujo Mota reviews the output before it is published. Corrections to source data are picked up on the next refresh.
