> Hi, my name is Elizabeth and I'm from Upstate New York. So I first reached out to GetBrazilVisa in probably about the end of February. And from the start, I experienced extremely reliable, consistent, and thorough communication from them, which was a big contrast in comparison to some of the other firms I reached out to, some of the bigger, more well-known firms, who didn't respond to me very quickly, didn't respond thoroughly with as much detail and thoughtfulness as Camila and her team at GetBrazilVisa did. So literally from the start I was very impressed by how they handled communication, and within hours of me reaching out they had already started asking for documents and reviewing them. So that experience continued throughout the whole time that I worked with them, which was literally from the end of February until the beginning of August when the visa was secured. And I can say there was literally not one moment where I was disappointed or frustrated or felt let down in the experience. Camila literally works tirelessly to make sure that you're going to get the best outcome you can. She's very detail oriented. And so with that being said, there were things in the application process to make the application the strongest that it could that I would have never thought I needed to know, and I do think that anyone who seriously wants to get this visa needs to work with them, because there's so much that I had no idea about the process to make the application stronger that they know. Camila is so knowledgeable, but not only is she knowledgeable and has a very strong work ethic, replies seems like almost instantly to every message I sent, but she cares so much, like genuinely cares if you receive the visa. And I think that's also what makes them stand apart, is it's not just another client for them, like they actually care if you get this visa. And so I would unequivocally work with them again in any situation, and I think you should too.

Elizabeth, a US citizen from Upstate New York, applied for the Brazil digital nomad visa (VITEM XIV) from inside Brazil and was approved in August 2026. She first got in touch in February and chose to file at the end of her tourist stay, so the span she describes is her own timing rather than processing time. We stayed in touch throughout while she got ready. Timelines follow the client, in both directions: where a case is urgent and the key documents are already in hand, we have taken an application from first contact to **submitted in 24 hours**. THE GETBRAZILVISA APPROACH

### We know what immigration authorities actually look for

As a small, focused team, we've processed enough applications to know exactly what gets approved, and what gets flagged. No bloated firm overhead. No junior associates learning on your case. Just a tight, specialized operation built for speed, quality, and a price that makes sense.

Fast turnaroundTransparent pricingSpecialized, not generalist

Before you decide

## Why we recommend applying with a lawyer

You can file the Brazil digital nomad visa yourself, and people are approved that way. Camila strengthens your application package, personalised to you and based on knowing what immigration authorities look for. We also help you avoid the lengthy **cartas de exigência** that immigration officers send, which we see many people deal with when they apply by themselves.

### Camila as your legal representative

- A written petition

A legal argument for your case citing RN 45/2021, signed under OAB/CE 50.065. A file without one is a form; a file with one is an argued case.

- Your Brazilian criminal records

Federal, plus one per Brazilian state you have lived in. Camila obtains them and files them with your application.

- Sworn translations, by a tradutor público

Only a publicly appointed translator counts. Both letters below ask for originals alongside translations, and one asks twice.

- The forms checked before they are filed

A blank justification, the wrong form, a date of birth that does not match the payment slip. All three are in the letters below.

- Your document list, in order

What each document is, where to get it, how long it takes, which need an apostille, and what to start first.

- A lawyer who has read your file

Answers come from the lawyer holding your case, not from a help desk working through a script.

- The filing, and whatever comes back

Camila files as your legal representative and answers the Ministry in your name. An exigência on a case she filed is her work, not yours.

### Hurdles on the way

A **carta de exigência** is an immigration officer asking for more before they will decide. It is written for lawyers, and the case waits until every item is answered. Here are two recent examples we received from clients who applied on their own. Tap a letter to read it.

Carta de exigência

2 pages · 5 items · July 2026

Sent the translation of the criminal record but not the original. Read the full letter

Carta de exigência

3 pages · 9 items · May 2026

Criminal record: original and translation, for every country lived in over five years. Read the full letter

Names, process numbers and timestamps have been removed. Everything the Ministry asked for is exactly as it was written.

### The Federal Police step, after approval

Approval is not the last thing that happens. Your residence has to be registered in person with the Polícia Federal before your RNM card exists, and that step is its own process.

- **The documents are not the ones you already sent.** The Federal Police ask for their own set, and assembling it correctly from outside the Brazilian system is where most people stall.
- **What is required differs by state.** The unit that registers you in São Paulo does not ask for the same things as the one in Florianópolis, and the published guidance does not always match the counter.
- **The appointment is the hard part.** Slots at the busy units open without warning and are taken quickly. Camila books yours.

I can’t recommend Camila highly enough. Her rates were extremely reasonable, and the level of care, responsiveness, and professionalism she provided was exceptional. I initially hired her to help me obtain a Digital Nomad Visa, but during the process I decided to switch to a Family Visa and apply for residency instead. Even though the scope of the work changed, she remained just as attentive and supportive throughout. In fact, I felt compelled to pay her more than our original agreement because I was so impressed with the value she provided. Camila kept my applications organized, ensured everything was filed on time, secured and prepared me for my appointments with the Federal Police, and made sure I had every document I could possibly need. Thanks to her, I successfully obtained both my visitor visa extension and my resident visa. She even went above and beyond by covering my appointment fees when I couldn’t pay with PIX as a foreigner. This was honestly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had with a lawyer. Camila genuinely cares about her clients and stands with you every step of the way. If you need immigration assistance in Brazil, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.

I moved to Brazil from Denmark on the digital nomad visa in October of 2025 with the help of Camila. She was very professional and even when I had to delay my arrival she accomodated and made sure I was taken care of. From preparing my documents to getting my Brazilian ID card, she helped me with every step. Thank you!

I was working from USA running my company and wanted to try a year in Brazil. The digital nomad visa process looked manageable on paper but once I started dealing with getting my documents apostilled through the DVV and figuring out what the Brazilian consulate actually needed, I hit a wall. Camila sorted everything out and was super patient with my million questions. If you plan on moving to Brazil, I highly recommend their service.

Can't recommend Camila enough. You can tell she genuinely knows Brazilian immigration law, not just the basics. She caught that my proof of income letter was missing a specific clause the consulate requires and had me fix it before submitting — I never would've caught that on my own. Incredibly professional from start to finish. Already told everyone in my coworking space in Pipa about her.

Camila made the digital nomad visa process painless. I shopped around a few immigration lawyers before hiring her and she was easily the most affordable — and honestly the most knowledgeable too. One other firm quoted me nearly double for basically the same service. Approved in about three weeks and I'm now set up in Rio de Janeiro. Worth every penny.

She compares the firm to larger practices she contacted and describes the document review. She first made contact in February and chose to file at the end of her tourist stay, so the months she refers to are her own timing rather than visa processing time. So I first reached out to GetBrazilVisa in probably about the end of February. And from the start, I experienced extremely reliable, consistent, and thorough communication from them, which was a big contrast in comparison to some of the other firms I reached out to, some of the bigger, more well-known firms, who didn't respond to me very quickly, didn't respond thoroughly with as much detail and thoughtfulness as Camila and her team at GetBrazilVisa did. So literally from the start I was very impressed by how they handled communication, and within hours of me reaching out they had already started asking for documents and reviewing them. So that experience continued throughout the whole time that I worked with them, which was literally from the end of February until the beginning of August when the visa was secured. And I can say there was literally not one moment where I was disappointed or frustrated or felt let down in the experience. Camila literally works tirelessly to make sure that you're going to get the best outcome you can. She's very detail oriented. And so with that being said, there were things in the application process to make the application the strongest that it could that I would have never thought I needed to know, and I do think that anyone who seriously wants to get this visa needs to work with them, because there's so much that I had no idea about the process to make the application stronger that they know. Camila is so knowledgeable, but not only is she knowledgeable and has a very strong work ethic, replies seems like almost instantly to every message I sent, but she cares so much, like genuinely cares if you receive the visa. And I think that's also what makes them stand apart, is it's not just another client for them, like they actually care if you get this visa. And so I would unequivocally work with them again in any situation, and I think you should too.","publisher":{"@type":"Organization","name":"GetBrazilVisa","url":"https://getbrazilvisa.com","logo":{"@type":"ImageObject","url":"https://getbrazilvisa.com/logo.webp"}},"inLanguage":"en","isFamilyFriendly":true,"about":{"@type":"Service","name":"Brazil Digital Nomad Visa (VITEM XIV) application service","provider":{"@id":"https://getbrazilvisa.com#organization"}}}]}
